Arthur Melo arrives in Turin to undergo Juventus medicals

After Juve and Barcelona agreeing swap deal for Arthur Melo and Miralem  Pjanic few days ago, the two midfielders have set their hearts to complete their medicals in Turin and Catalonia respectively.

After flying back to Barcelona alongside his teammates last night in Barca 2-2 draw against Celta Vigo, Arthur, accompanied by the club’s doctor, boarded a plane to Italy on Saturday evening.

Blaugrana’s doctor will now check-up Miralem Pjanic‘s condition in Italy who is expected to join Barcelona as part of the operation. As for Arthur, he will undergo his medical at Juventus on Sunday.

It is expected that the official confirmations will be made before June 30. However, the players will complete the ongoing seasons at their respective teams and won’t switch clubs until August.

The 23-year-old Brazilian is expected to sign a five-year contract with Juve. The Serie A giants will reportedly pay Arthur triple the salary he is currently getting at Camp Nou.

In return for the Brazil international, the Catalans will sign Pjanic plus €10million.

For the two deals to materialize there should be a mutual understanding of all parties involved in the transfer chain. However, Arthur Melo’s reluctance to join the  Seria A outfits was blocking the progress of his transfer and Barca’s wish to land Pjanic in return.

However, it’s understood that Melo has been convinced by the Turin giants and has finally decided to join them amid Pjanic transfer to Camp Nou.
