George Maluleka turns down Kaizer Chiefs latest contract offer to extend stay with Glamour boys

George Maluleka could leave Kaizer Chiefs at the end of the season when his current contract completely runs out June 30th this year.

Talks for contract extension have since transpired between Maluleka and Chiefs but still remain separated from each other due to differences.

According to latest reports, Maluleka and his big bosses have locked in negotiations for a new deal after the midfielder turned down one of the club’s latest offers.

Maluleka, 31, have a desire of remaining with Chiefs for longer time and has finally requested for more years if he should sign any deal. However, Chiefs are only ready to offer the midfielder a short-term contract which the player is unsatisfied with the new proposed offer by the league leaders.

Despite failure to reach a new deal in recent meeting, there is advancement in the negotiations where the two parties have agreed in principle financial terms.

Chief are forced to draw back to rethink about the decision, and could try to get the services of Malueka extended after boss Ernst Middendorp recently opened up about Maluleka’s contract situation saying that he hopes it gets wrapped up soon.

“I think one of the most important parameter to how we are dealing with the season is that we have consistency in terms of our set-up and core players Middendorp told reporters.

“For us, it is each and everybody, therefore I hope that George’s contract is wrapped up as quick as possible and get the final discussions done, he is very crucial for Kaizer Chiefs – a number of players,” he added.

Maluleka joined Kaizer Chiefs from SuperSport United in 2014, appearing as one of club’s important figure since his arrival. He has failed to score in the ABSA Premiership this season but has managed four assists for Kaizer Chiefs in 18 league games.
