SOUTH AFRICA: Kaizer Chiefs defender Daniel Cardoso misses football but hopes to return to action after lock-down

Daniel Cardoso has been outstanding for Kaizer Chiefs this season as the Glamour Boys fight to lift the ABSA Premiership title after five years down the line.

Chiefs currently lead the Premiership table 4 points clear second place Mamelodi Sundowns with just few games to end the season. However, the coronavirus outbreak has already put the league in suspension as the whole of South Africa witness two weeks lock-down amid preventing the spread of the disease.

Cardoso, who is not exempted from the lock-down amid staying indoors for the observation of the self-isolated protocol, has hinted missing football.

On his personal Instagram page, the defender expressed how much he missed the game, also issuing a plea for fans to stay indoors, when he said, “A winner is someone who works to become a champion all the time, even when no one is watching!!! Miss being out on the field of play and doing what I love… Stay indoors and stay safe people, don’t forget to wash your hands regularly and let’s fight this Covid-19 virus together.”

Cardoso, 31, is one of the players who have played more games for Kaizer Chiefs in the Premiership this season and knee adding more bit to assist Middendorp’s side lift the title since 2014-2015 season.

Chiefs have not been convincing in recent times, winning and drawing 2 each with a draw in their last five Premiership games. And if they maintain this momentum, given that of Downs who have won four straight league games, Chiefs could be laughing at the wrong side of their mouth.
