Asante Kotoko closing in on Ash Gold ace Latif Anabila in GHC 100,000 transfer

Ghanaian outfits Asante Kotoko are close to the signing of Ash Gold midfielder Latif Anabila according to reports in Ghana.

The two parties have been linked with each other over the last two transfer windows but Kotoko have failed to sign the midfielder in any of those windows.

But Kotoko could have one of their top most transfer targets Anabila signed up in this season’s second transfer window as reports claim Kotoko are in advanced stage of the transfer negotiations.

Kotoko have opened talks with Ash Gold for Anabila and the Ghanaian giants are understood to reach agreement with the Miners where the Obuasi based side value their prize asset around GHC 100,000.

And Kotoko have proposed to pay an initial fee of GHC 50, 000 and that move has been accepted by the 1997 CAF Champions League finalists.

The Porcupine Warriors have also agreed personal terms with Anabila which is in the region of GHC 90, 000 as enticement for a three-year contract.

The Black Stars B midfielder is expected to arrive in Kumasi this weekend to finalize contract details, after which if the deal is official announced, he will become the third signing since the opening of the second transfer window having Kotoko already signed Nkoranza Warriors duo Emmanuel Sarkodie and Kwame Opoku.

Kotoko boss Maxwell Konadu is a number one admirer of Anabila who the manager considers to be a perfect box-to-box midfielder for the team he is building at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The manager is certain about the defensive midfield role where Justice Blay is touted as the best man for that position, and with Emmanuel Sarkodie signing to fill the offensive (play-making) void, the signing of a box-to-box man was one area the manager was looking forward to complete in order to be satisfy of his midfield department on the basic level.

If Anabila moves to Kotoko he will reunite with Maxwell Konadu after the coach managed the Ash Gold hard-working midfielder in the 2019 WAFU tournament where Ghana was a losing finalist to host nations Senegal.
