Frank Nuttall is reportedly interested in managing Asante Kotoko as Zachariassen replacement

According to reports in the Ghanaian media, former boss of Hearts of Oak Frank Nuttall has expressed his interest in claiming Asante Kotoko coaching job.

The Ghanaian Premier League side have not yet appointed the replacement of former boss Kjetil Zachariassen following the sack of the Norwegian last month.

Assistant coach Johnson Smith has step in the manage Kotoko on the interim where the former Karela United coach is producing a good course of preparation for the Kumasi based side ahead of the new Ghana football season, scoring 9 goals and conceding just a goal in the club’s last two friendly games.

Kotoko is knee on finding a permanent replacement for Zachariassen for a month now, and former Black Stars assistant coach Maxwell Konadu and Frank Nuttall who has recently showed his desire in managing Kotoko have all been linked during Kotoko’s month of search.

Kotoko called off permanently their interest in appointing Maxwell Konadu just last week, leaving Nuttall as the only and favorite candidate for Kotoko coaching job, given the assumption that he meets Kotoko’s criteria of someone who has CAF License A certificate in coaching.

This week, former Gor mahia and Al Hilal Obeid’ Nuttall who also managed Hearts of Oak between 2017 and 18 has expressed his interest in managing Kotoko, as claimed by reports in Ghana.

The Scottish boost of such level kind of experience on the African continent, guiding Kenyan giants Gor Mahia’s unbeaten run in the 2014-2015 Kenya Premier League campaign.

From popular opinion, it can be concluded that the former Hearts of Oak boss has brought his desire to manage Kotoko into sharper focus haven already disclosed his availability to manage Kotoko back in September this year.

“I don’t discuss through the media, all I can say to you is that Asante Kotoko is a one of the biggest clubs in Africa, with fabulous fans and I am an experienced and successful UEFA Pro Licence Coach that is available to work” Nuttall told Footballmadeinghana.com in an interview.

If Frank Nuttall succeed in landing the Kotoko job, it would add up to his experience in Africa football after managing Al-Nasr in 2006, Gor Mahia in 2014, Zamalek in 2016, Hearts of Oak in 2017 and El Hilal Obeid in 2018.
