Raja Casablanca’s Ben Malango ordered by FIFA to pay $300,000 compensation to former club TP Mazembe

Ben Malango who currently plays for Moroccan side Raja Club Athletic has been ordered by FIFA to pay $300,000 compensation to his former side TP Mazembe.

Malango completed a move from Mazembe to Raja Casablanca on a free transfer last summer. The Dr Congo giants claimed Malango had a year period left on his contract at Lubumbashi and lodged a complaint to FIFA last year September.

In their complaint, TP Mazembe asked FIFA to order their former player to pay a $5 million compensation to them ban Malango and Raja Casablanca for six months and two transfer windows respectively.

FIFA later provided a temporal response to the compliant by given Malango a temporal permit to play for Raja Casablanca whilst the investigation process began.

The World football governing body has now found Malango and the Moroccan giants guilty of compliant leveled against them by TP Mazembe.

FIFA rejected Mazembe’s huge demands and has soften stand on those three demands by ordering Malango to pay $300,000 compensation to the Dr Congo giants.

Raja hinted on its website that it would help Malango pay the money as it expressed its solidarity with him.

On its website Raja added that it “takes note of this decision and awaits notification of the full FIFA decision before examining the possible means of redress before the CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport).”

Malango has been impressive for Raja Casablanca this season, scoring nine goals in 27 appearances across all completion. He opened the scores against TP Mazembe in the CAF Champions League quarter-finals first leg in Casablanca.

Malango joins Raja Casablanca to make the trip to Lubumbashi for the second leg of the Champions League on Saturday.
