Salah Adam sacked by Al Hilal of Sudan following his defeat to Al Ahly in CAF Champions League

Sudanese side Al Hilal have sacked manager Salah Adam following his 2-1 defeat to Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League

Al Hilal went off to a positive start in the African competition after beating Zimbabwe’s FC Platinum 2-1 in the opening round.

Additionally, they currently sit fourth in the Sudanese league after ten games, winning seven, drawing one while losing just two. And with four games in hand they are just two points behind league leaders Alamal Atbara.

Despite seemingly being on a good run of form, with six wins in their last seven matches, Al Hilal board led by Sudanese businessman Ahmed Al-Cardinal decided to sack their boss Adam as the club announced on their official Facebook page.

The club also revealed assistant manager and former club captain Haitham Mustapha as the interim manager until they find a suitable replacement.

Al Hilal now sit second in Group B of the CAF Champions League, just above Al Ahly on goal difference and three points behind leaders Etoile du Sahel.
