Enyimba salvage by second half Usule strike after a tough clash against San Pedro in Confederation Cup

Enyimba International of Nigeria have recorded their first win in the group phase of the 2019-2020 CAF Confederation Cup, after beating San Pedro from Ivory Coast 1-0 at Enyimba International Stadium..

Enyimba were held to a first half goalless draw by the Ivorians but after starting the second half strongly, the Nigerians broke the deadlock on 64’ minute when Martins Usule who replaced Samson Bossa Obi in the second half converted a rebound inside from the box.

Few minutes later, Usule nearly doubled the lead for Enyimba but his half acrobatic kick resulting from a cross from the left flank missed the posts by an inch.

After seeing a 2-0 defeat in the hands of Hassania Agadir in their opening game of group D, Enyimba have recorded their first victory against San Pedro.

The Nigerians have moved to second place on the log with 3 points after two games.
