Ibrahim Danlad has failed to establish himself as Kotoko’s first choice goal-keeper after coming through the ranks of the club’s youth system. In 2018, 16 year old Danlad was fourth choice at Kotoko, stepping foots of Felix Anann, Osei Kwame and Muntari Tagoe in that pegging order.
In 2019, he had begun warming himself into the heart of C.K Akunnor, where in the absence of Felix Anann he was preferred in posts ahead of Osei Kwame and Muntari Tagoe when Kotoko beat Hearts of Oak in the semifinals of the Normalization Committee Special Competition.
But the arrival of Kwame Baah July this year has relegated Danlad’s services at Baba Yara back to fourth choice option despite Kotoko omitting Muntari Tagoe in the goal-keeping chain, and a departure on temporary basis would help Danlad’s development.
Chelsea who have good relationship with Kotoko in terms of player transfer is the preferred destination for the former Ghana U-20 first choice, and he is expected to keep the posts for Chelsea in the 2019-2020 Ghana Premier League.
