GFA announce names of CAF License A holders to amid clubs meeting Club Licensing Board requirement of hiring CAF License A coaches
The rebranding of Ghana football Internationally, continentally and domestically has saw the formation of Club Licensing Board last month by the GFA, and the board has instructed Premier Division Clubs to hire CAF License A holders to manage Premier Division Football Clubs in the country.
This new development has slowed down clubs activities, where most Premier Division Clubs have got stucked in the ongoing transfers and the formation of technical bench as a result of teams’ inability to get access to those managers who have attained CAF License A certificates.
As the season gets closer to its commencement, the GFA has release a 70-man list of coaches in Ghana who are CAF License A holders to relieve and relief Premier League clubs from anxiety and stress.
The Technical Directorate of the GFA released the list on Monday morning, few days after the Club Licensing Board communicated it stand of not accepting any less than their requirement of CAF License A holders to coach Premier League clubs this season and beyond.
The names include popular coaches such as Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah, Maxwell Konadu, Yaw Preko, David Duncan, Samuel Osei Kuffuor, Anthony Baffoe, Charles Kwabena Akunnor and Abedi Ayew Pele.
This released may come as a prove to the comments of GAF Technical Director Oti Akenteng who reiterate that there are more CAF License A coaches in Ghana than what clubs already know.
“There are about 150 coaches who currently hold License A in the country. There are a lot of coaches in the premier league with License A,” he told Happy FM.
“Even in the Northern Region, we have a lot of coaches as well as in the various schools and tertiary. This has brought about much improvement in terms of coaching at the school level.
“The duration of the course is 240 hours which is equivalent to one month but it is done within two months,” he added.
