Everton considering appointing Carlo Ancelotti as boss after the Italian sacked by Napoli last night

Napoli announced the decision to dismiss Ancelotti an hour after he led the club to the knockout stages of the Champions League with a 4-0 home win against Genk, ending a nine-match run in all competitions without victory.

A Napoli club statement read: “SSC Napoli has decided to revoke the role of first-team coach from Mr Carlo Ancelotti.

“The rapport of friendship, admiration and reciprocal respect between the club, its president (Aurelio De Laurentiis) and Carlo Ancelotti remain intact.”

But Ancelotti may not stay at home for a longer time as he has been tipped to take both Arsenal and Everton coaching jobs. According to Sky Sports News in Italy, the former Chelsea boss looks favorite to be appointed by Everton.

Ancelotti guided Napoli to a second place on the Seria A table last season after replacing Maurizio Sarri May 2018 but his last nine games have been extremely disappointing for Napoli failing to win any of those games across all competitions before thrashing Genk 4-0 in the Champions League last night.

Everton are in talks with former boss David Moyes to lead the Merseysides again, but Ancelotti’s sacking may hamper talks between Everton and Moyes where Everton are considering to appoint the former Napoli boss, claimed by Sky Sports News.

Ancelotti understands English football very well where he led Chelsea to lift the EPL title in 2010, and his experience has forced not only Everton to pursue the Italian but Arsenal whose coaching job has become available from two weeks now are interested in hiring Ancelotti too.
