Asante Kotoko to undergo huge changes revealed by Ex Operations Manager George Kennedy

Former Operations Manager of Asante Kotoko George Kennedy has opened up on the major changes that are bound to rock the doors of the Ghana Premier League outfits.

Asante Kotoko Sporting Club who are known for victory and success in anything they battle for have been under intense constrains and challenges in administration for the past few months.

The club was fine $240, 000 by FIFA in a bid to clear Esperance de Tunis for Kotoko’s wrongful signing of Emmanuel Clottey from the Tunisians in 2015.

The debt has been paid by Executive Chairman of the club Dr. Kwame Kyei but that will not erase him from appearing before the Manhyia Palace for scrutiny following the end of his initial 3-year mandate in the running of the Ghanaian side.

In a bid to scrutinize Kyei’s 3-year administration, a three member committee has been tasked with scrutiny mandate in which the mandate extend to investigate affairs including Kotoko’s transfer of Clottey from Esperance before the arrival of Kotoko’s current Chairman.

One person who has appeared before the committee (on Wednesday) is George Kennedy who emerged before the scrutinizing body as former Operations Manager of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club.

The former Operations Manager has predicted huge changes that are set to happen in Kotoko since coming out from the mandated body.

“I just came out from the meeting with the committee, I can’t say what exactly happened because it was in camera but I foresee that this Committee’s report will bring major changes to Kotoko, Kennedy told Oyerepa FM in Kumasi.”

During the first season of Kennedy at Kotoko, the Premier League giants were beaten abysmally in the CAF Champions League by small-hold name in African football MC El Eulma from Algeria.

After Kotoko had drew goalless away from home, in Algeria, El Eulma run away from the Baba Yara Sports Stadium with a 2-1 victory, and the game’s outcome is the worst ever results Kotoko have recorded against a North African opponent the CAF Inter Club competitions in Kumasi and Ghana at large.

Before this defeat, no club from North Africa had beaten Kotoko at their back-yard and the loss is the first and only CAF Inter Club defeat from an “African-Whites” in the history of Kotoko in Ghana.

What that seemed a bad omen against Kennedy’s reputation as Kotoko Operations Manager for losing not even to the big North African sides but to an “unknown team on the continent.

Kotoko’s elimination didn’t cost Kennedy his job at that moment but has now reiterated not to work for Kotoko again.

“For coming to work for Kotoko, I don’t think I will work for Kotoko again” via Footballmadeinghana.

These comments come after appearing before the scrutinizing committee where he is believed to provide key information to the body.

The committee’s mandate meanwhile comes to an end ending of this month, and is required to submit back to the Manhyia Palace.
