According to Spanish Publication El Desmarque, Real Madrid President Florentino Perez together with boss Zidane are preparing a swoop for Chelsea teenager Hudson Odoi after it appeared that Odoi is one of the four short listed players for Perez’s summer shopping.
Chelsea teenager and winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has been sensational after his break through into Chelsea’s first team under Maurizio Sarri. His performances have caught the eyes of many clubs across Europe, where Bayern Munich at the beginning of this season came very close to singing the wing wizard.
Few days ago, Odoi disclosed his intentions of leaving Chelsea prior to the start of the season, which Bayern was believed to have been the possible destination, but the German outfits saw all their bids for the winger rejected by the Londoners due to Bayern’s under-pricing of the player.
Frank Lampard as the new Chelsea boss came in to settle the score with Odoi who was desperate for regular football, therefore influencing the young English to extend his contract. Now Odoi remains at Chelsea for the next five years.
But latest reports claim that Real Madrid President Florentino Perez could change Odoi’s destiny of stay from Stamford Bridge to Santiago Bernabeu. Perez and Real Madrid boss Zidane have grown to be a strong admirer of the Chelsea youngster, according the Spanish outlet El Desmarque.
Though Odoi may not be the only player admired by Florentino Perez, where other players admired by the Bernabeu Chief include Erling Braut Haaland, Moise Kean and Villarreal forward Samu Chikwueze, according to the Spanish source, the Chelsea winger tops the four transfer list of Perez, which he is much prepared to swoop in summer.
But the transfer is likely to be unsuccessful not only in next summer, but within the first two years of Odoi’s contract extension in general, given the close and tight relationship between Odoi and Frank Lampard.
Madrid’s interest in signing Hudson Odoi has become imminent because of Perez’s desire to cause major shake-up in the current Madrid set up.
The likes of Gareth Bale, Isco and Dani Ceballos would be thrown into summer transfer market that would create a huge vacuum in terms of space and money for the Bernabeu president to fill. And that could see Odoi brought to Madrid by Florentino Perez.
