Ibrahim Tanko and David Notoane press conference ahead of Ghana-South Africa third-place clash

Ghana take on David Notoane’s South Africa in the third-place of the Africa U-23 Nations Cup at Cairo International Stadium tomorrow afternoon.

Ghana were inflicted a 3-2 defeat on penalties by Ivory Coast in the semifinals of the competition, and South Africa in the same stage also encountered the humiliation of Egypt where the host run riot over the Young Bafana Bafana two days ago.

Both Ibrahim Tanko and David Notoane have big roles to play if their teams can secure the only remaining qualification to Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

During the game’s pre-match press conference on Thursday, both Tanko and Notoane highlighted their intentions of claiming the only spot remaining for the Olympic Games qualification.

Ibrahim Tanko words

“The semi-final defeat is history now.”

“We spoke with the players and they know the importance of this match.

“There is one last chance to go to the Olympics and we will do everything not to miss it.”

David Notoane words

“It will be a very difficult match against a good team from Ghana who wants to start again with Olympic qualification.”

“This match will be all the more difficult because there is nothing left behind.

“After missing the title, the team is focused on getting this qualification at the Olympics.”

Based on their words, we predict that tomorrow’s game is going to be an all attacking football from both sides. Ghana beat South Africa to secure a place in their last appearance at the Olympic Games in 2004.
