Andre Ayew converts second half penalty in Swansea’s 2-2 draw against Blackburn

Ghana captain Andre Ayew find back of the net to increase his tally to 12 goals in the season against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday afternoon.

Swansea City held Blackburn to a home 2-2 draw in Match Day 38 of the English Championship, though they should have emerged victors this afternoon after leading for most minutes of the game.

Sam Gallagher put Blackburn ahead 25’ minutes into the game before Liverpool loanee Rhian Brewster pulled Swansea on level before the break.

Ayew then converted 48th penalty to give Swan City the lead. The away side defended their lead until Bradley Johnson grabbed the equalizer in stoppage time to earn vital point. Ayew and his side Swan City are place 9th on the Championship table with 52 points.

Ayew’s performance this season could prove beneficial for Black Stars new coach Charles Kwablan Akunnor who recently returned to Ghana from a tour across Europe to monitor and engage several Ghanaian players abroad including Ayew.

Akunnor is expected to name his squad for Ghana’s 2021 AFCON qualifier against Sudan, and that would undoubtedly get the inclusion of the Swansea City striker.
