Match Report: Inter Allies 1-0 Hearts of Oak Ghana Premier League Week 3 2020/2021

Inter Allies recorded their first league win of the 2020/21 campaign after a 1-0 success against giants Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium in Sunday’s late kickoff.

A thunderous strike from Richmond Lamptey was what divided the two sides in the see-saw contest.

The two teams created few goal scoring opportunities in the first half but Hearts of Oak looked refreshing to watch .

Before the second half, Hearts of Oak were forced to introduce Robert Sowah for the injured Nuru Sulley.

Hearts of Oak Striker Abednego Tetteh was passed fit for his competitive debut but

Allies looked very solid in defence with captain Hashmin Musah perfectly playing the sweeping role and left back Fard Ibrahim marauding the flanks.

Just after the hour mark, midfielder Richmond Lamptey unleashed a belter from 25 yards into the roof for the match winner.

Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Richard Attah was off his line and could also watch on agonizingly as the ball rocketed into the top corner.

Allies could have added the second on the 75th minute mark but Alex Aso who had been put through clear on goal slipped terribly inside the box.

The Phobians were left off the hook.

Credit must go to the entire backline of Inter Allies who produced quality defending and remained tactically disciplined.

Inter Allies Henrik Lehm and his charges deserve the full credit for digging deep to put the Phobians to the sword.
