TP Mazembe reject $2.5million Al Ahly bid for Congolese International Jackson Muleka

Dr. Congo giants TP Mazembe have rejected a heavy offer from Al Ahly in attempt to lure striker Jackson Muleka to the Cairo International Stadium.

Ahly have not lifted the CAF Champions League in almost 7 years now since their last glory against Orlando Pirates in 2013 their eighth title in the history of the CAF Champions League.

The Egyptians have long planned to win to competition they feel belongs to them after signing Aliou Badji from Rapid Wien in January this year to strengthen their attacking line only that the Senegalese International have struggled to adopt to life at the club as early as is expected of him giving his competence shown before joining the Cairo-based club.

Like any serious club with ambitions does, Ahly continue to search for quality on the African continent, and they have been keeping eyes on Mamelodi Sundowns striker Gaston Sirino in recent times, and have began a step to complete the signing of Jackson Muleka from TP Mazembe in a bid to solve their striking problems.

Report by ESPN journalist Anthony Pla claims the record-eight time African champions Ahly have offered Mazembe a mouth-watering $2.5m bid for Muleka with a $1-m (R18-m) potential sign-on fee.

However, Mazembe have reportedly rejected the offer to keep hold to the striker, and Muleka himself sees his future in Europe instead of Cairo, and has informed Mazembe of no interest in joining Al Ahly.

Muleka, 20, have been linked with a host of clubs in Franc with Monaco, Amiens and Strasbourg reportedly eyeing the young African striker.

The 20-year-old has emerged one of the prolific strikers on the African continent joining among the ranks as the joint 10th highest scorer in the history of the CAF Champions League.

Clubs including Al Ahly are justified of having a sleepless night over Muleka’s form in CAF Inter Club competitions, overall, finding back of the net 14 times in his first ever 30 games in CAF Club competitions.

This season alone, he has bagged in 7 goals in 10 Champions League games to emerge as the competition’s top scorer, three more than Etoile Sportive du Sahel’s Karim Aribi and Zamalek’s Achraf Bencharki who together share second place in the top scorer chat.

At just 20 years, Muleka have already lifted the Congolese league title, CAF Confederation Cup and Super Cup.
