Hearts of Oak consistently telling Sulley Muntari their interest in the former Inter and AC Milan star

Ghana Premier League giants Hearts of Oak have been telling Sully Ali Muntari their interest in signing the Ghana International midfielder.

Muntari has been linked with a move to the Ghanaian side for some time now but Hearts rubbished rumours that riffed the Ghanaian media last week that they have completed signing the midfielder on two year deal.

It has now been revealed by Hearts of Oak board member Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe that Hearts have long been contacting the former Inter Milan super star over a potential switch to the Ghanaian capital.

However, the player looked relaxed over Hearts’ interest despite training with the Ghanaian side couple of times when ever he is in Ghana.

Muntari, 35, has been without a club since ending a short spell with Spanish second division fold Albacete last year.

“For the past two years, Hearts of Oak have been telling Sulley Ali Muntari that we’ve reserved a jersey for him,” Tamakloe, also a former president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), told Angel FM.

“Anytime he’s ready to play, he knows what to do.”

It remains unclear of how Muntari will approach Hearts’ interest but it’s believed that the former AC Milan ace and Black Stars striker Asamoah Gyan could consider a return to the Ghana Premier League with each willing to play for Hearts and Kotoko respectively.

During Muntari’s time with Internazionale, he helped the team win the Champions League in 2009–10 and the Serie A title in 2008–09 and 2009–10.

He was also part of the Portsmouth team that won the FA Cup in 2007–08.

At international level, Muntari featured for Ghana at the 2006, 2010 and 2014 World Cup tournaments, having also played multiple Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournaments.
