Real Valladolid defender Mohammed Salisu on Manchester United radar as agent confirms interests in Ghanaian International

Ghana and Real Valladolid defender Mohammed Salisu has plenty of admiters – and a move to Manchester United could be on the cards, according to his agent… who also happens to be Juan Mata’s father.

Salisu has impressed for Valladolid, and the 21-year-old centre-back’s £10.4m release clause looks tempting when the likes of Dayot Upamecano cost around five times as much.

The defender’s agent, Juan Mata Snr, told Vip Deportivo: “This year he has been a sensation in La Liga because at only 20 years old, 1.90m, left-footed, and playing centre back in this division is not easy,’

“The truth is that I think this may be his window [to leave], because interests have arisen from many clubs, and he deserves it.”

Manchester United are looking for forward-line reinforcements where the likes of Jadon Sancho, Jack Grealish and Kai Havertz have been linked with a move to Old Trafford.

It’s also understood that Ole is still looking to strengthen his central defence despite Maguire’s inclusion seeming magic at the back this season, and a world class figure isn’t the priority now.

Salisu appeared on United’s shopping list last summer but later Ole’s side back off a move for the Ghanaian International.

However, Manchester United are believed knee signing the center-back since he meets Od Trafford’s standard who is seen as Maguire’s long term partner.
