Revealed: Songne Yacouba joins Club Consult Limited but Kotoko rejected $50,000 move for Burkina Faso striker

Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Yusif Alhassan Chibsah has revealed that Songne Yacouba has joined his professional consortium known as Club Consult Limited- who are officially mandated to deal with foreign offers for the former Stade Malien striker.

Yacouba is currently managed by local entourage led by Mr Jantuah who the entourage are responsible for all local contractual issues for the Kotoko striker and are believed in talks with the Kumasi based club to seek extension for the striker but none of the moves have not materialized.

The silky striker has now joined Club Consult Limited managed by the player of Kotoko, Chibsah, and the organization is recognize as a FIFA intermediary that deals with the transfer of players.

“It’s true Songne Yacouba has join my outfit; Club Consult Limited but the player has his own local managers Mr Jantuah and Alhaji who have the leeway to exercise authority on the player to negotiate with Asante Kotoko,’ Chibsah told Kumasi based radio station Ashh FM.

“For us at Club Consult, our mandate is to ensure the player lands a foreign contract,” he added.

Yacouba is expected to leave Kotoko when his current contract expires next month with no sign of reaching a new contract extension with the Ghanaian giants.

Prior to the striker entering into the last three months of his contract he was chased by several clubs across Africa where at a point Sudan giants Al Hilal Omdurman, South African side Mamelodi Sundowns, Zambian duo Nkana Red Devils and Zesco United together with Tanzania giants Azam FC and Simba Football Club have all shown interest in signing the Kotoko forward.

Chibsah has revealed that an unknown club which is likely to be one of these African sides made a $50,000 offer to sign Yacouba but Kotoko rejected that offer when the 28-year-old had only three months left on his contract.

“I got a deal worth $50,000 for Asante Kotoko talisman Songne Yacouba but the management of the club said the money was too meagre for a player of Yacouba’s calibre when the player had only 3 months left to end his contract,” Chibsah revealed.

The leader of Club Consult Limited has also been accused of standing in between Yacouba’s contract extension at Kotoko but took time to clear the air when the interviewer asked the former player whether he accept that he has influenced the striker’s decision during negotiation for a new deal at Baba Yara.

“It’s not true I Yusif Chibsah doesn’t want Yacouba to renew his contract with Asante Kotoko. I haven’t stop Songne Yacouba joining Asante Kotoko. I have never interfered in the Asante Kotoko and Yacouba contract renewal. It is not my mandate to do so.”
