Hakim Ziyech grabs brace in Chelsea 2-2 Mind Series drawn game against Tottenham

Hakim Ziyech was the hero for Chelsea against Nuno Espirito Santo’s Tottenham after scoring his side all goals in second Mind Series clash at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea defeated Arsenal 2-1 in their first game at Emirates Stadium last Sunday and welcomed Tottenham to Stamford Bridge three later.

Ziyech won the major headlines, managing to maintain his position in Thomas Tuchel’s starting XI with the Moroccan International pairing Kai Havertz behind Timo Werner. This was the same trio that hammered Arsenal at Emirates in the first game.

The trio were as effective against Tottenham as they were against Mikel Arteta’s men but it was Ziyech who put Chelsea in front this time unlike against Arsenal that Chelsea were up through Kai Havertz.

The African star had been lively throughout the game but have to wait til 16’ minute to get his effort paid off. Kante dispossessed Lucas Moura in Tottenham’s half close to the middle which the ball fell to Ziyech who drove forward before firing a low short to the bottom corner.

The Moroccan star continued to link up with his teammate but couldn’t add to their tally as the first half ended 1-0 Chelsea lead.

Ziyech doubled Chelsea’s lead and his second of the night four minutes into the second half but Lucas Moura 56’ mark and Steven Bergwijn 70’ minute strike drew parity as Thomas Tuchel’s second half whole changes caused Chelsea 2-2 draw in North London friendly.

Ziyech has had a thunderous pre-season netting his 5th goal in 3 friendly appearances. From Tuchel’s lineups against Peterborough, Arsenal and Tottenham, Ziyech could become a regular man in the 2021/2022 campaign.

The Moroccan grabbed a hat-trick in Chelsea’s first pre-season friendly against Peterborough and find a brace against Tottenham on Wednesday evening.
