Egyptian international Trezeguet wins İstanbul Başakşehir POTM award for February

Egyptian international Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet was named İstanbul Başakşehir Player of the Month for February.

Two months ago, Trezeguet had completed a loan move to Turkish outfit İstanbul Başakşehir after falling down the pecking order at Aston Villa.

Despite many believing that a move to Turkey would negatively affect his career, the Egyptian proved that joining Başakşehir was the right decision for his future.

The 27-year-old quickly adapted to his new team, providing an assist on his first appearance in the Turkish Super Lig against Gaziantep.

In his second game, he scored a brace, leading his team to a valuable 2-0 victory over Rizespor.

During his last game in February, and despite his team’s 2-1 defeat against Karagumruk, Trezeguet kept shining, netting his side’s only goal of the night.

As a result of his spectacular performances and goal contributions, Başakşehir named Trezeguet the club’s Player of the Month for February.
