Nigeria vs Tunisia confirmed lineups as Simon, Iheanacho and Awoniyi start while Msakni, Jaziri, Rafia start for Tunisia Afcon Cameroon 2021

Nigeria have a clean bill of health ahead of their line-up being announced for Sunday’s last-16 clash with Tunisia in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Interim coach Augustine Eguavoen has confirmed he will be looking to approach the game in the same manner his team did during their opening win over Egypt, so it seems reasonable to expect a very similar lineup. Indeed, if something isn’t broken, why try and fix it?

In many ways, this looks like one of the worst teams Nigeria could have drawn.

Tunisia might not have made much of a statement themselves but, given some of the relative minnows in other groups, to get drawn against them is somewhat unlucky.

Still, if the Super Eagles are going to lift the AFCON on Cameroonian soil, these are the games they need to win.

Nigeria XI: Okoye; Aina, Troost-Ekong, Omeruo, Sanusi; Ndidi, Aribo; Chukwueze, Simon, Iheanacho; Awoniyi

Tunisia XI: Ben Said, Drager, Ifa, Talbi, Haddadi, Slimane, Skhiri, Laidouni, Msakni, Jaziri, Rafia
