England born Ademola Lookman reports at Nigeria camp for Ghana World Cup playoff clash

Former England youth international, Ademola Lookman is set for his first senior bow with the Super Eagles of Nigeria after his nationality switch was approved by FIFA.

The Leicester City attacker earned his first Nigeria call up for the World Cup play-off against Ghana, and he is expected to play a key role in the two-legged blockbuster encounter.

Lookman had represented England at youth levels but decided to play the country of his parents at senior level.

“Hi guys, this is Ademola Lookman here. I just arrived in the camp and I am happy to be here. Naija, mo tide (Nigeria I have arrived),” he said in a video posted on Twitter by the Nigeria Football Federation.

The 24-year-old attacker will join the Super Eagles that that will travel to Ghana on Thursday for the first leg encounter on Friday night at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Four days later the Super Eagles will host Ghana at the Mashood Abiola stadium in Abuja, with the winner in the two legged game qualifying for the World Cup.

Nigeria are hoping to make it a seventh appearance at the World Cup while Ghana seeks a return at the tournament in Qatar after missing the 2014 edition in Russia.
