WBA flyweight champion Dalakian stops Concepcion in ninth round to retain WBA flyweight belt

WBA flyweight champion Artem Dalakian stopped Luis “El Nica” Concepcion in the ninth round to retain his WBA flyweight belt for the fifth time at the AKKO International in Kiev, Ukraine on Saturday night.

Dalakian dominated from the first round and scored two knockdowns in the fifth round.

After scoring another knockdown in round nine, the referee stepped in to call the fight off.

Dalakian improved his record to 21-0; 15 and the WBA No 1-rated Concepcion’s record dropped to 39-9; 28.

Falcao wins IBF eliminator

Esquiva “La Pantera” Falcao (29-0; 20), the No 4-rated IBF middleweight contender, beat Patrice Volny (16-1; 10) on a sixth-round technical decision in an IBF middleweight title eliminator at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

A clash of heads in the sixth round left Falcao with a badly cut eye and he was unable to continue. The scores were 58-56 twice and 58-57.

On the same card, WBO No 2 and WBC No 4-rated middleweight Janibek “Qazaq Style” Alimkhanuly (11-0; 7) won on an eighth-round technical knockout over former world champion Hassan N’Dam (38-6; 21).

There was little in it through the first two rounds before Alimkhanuly scored a knockdown in round three and dominated until the referee Kenny Bayless stopped the fight at 2:40 in the sixth round.

In a lightweight bout, Raymond “Danger” Muratalla (13-0; 11) scored a fifth-round technical knockout win over late substitute Elias “El Macho” Araujo (21-4; 8 KOs).

Muratalla was on top before the referee waved the fight off at 2:20 into the round.

Riakporhe stops durodolan in WBC cruiserweight eliminator

Richard Riakporhe (13-0; 9) won on a fifth-round technical knockout over Olanrewaju Durodola (36-9; 33) on Saturday night at the SSE Arena in London.

A big left hand sent Duradola down in the fifth round. Duradola beat the count but, after a barrage of punches, the referee called the fight off. Riakporhe won the WBC cruiserweight silver title.

Nakatani defends belt on Murata vs Golovkin undercard

Japan’s WBO flyweight champion Junto Nakatani (22-0; 17) will defend his belt against No 9-rated Cristian Gonzalez (14-1; 4) of Mexico on the undercard of the middleweight clash between WBA “super” champ Ryota Murata and IBF belt holder Gennady Golovkin in Saitama, Japan, on 19 December.

On the same card, lightweight OPBF and WBO AP champion Shuichiro Yoshino (14-0; 11) meets former WBO junior lightweight champion Masayuki Ito (27-3-1; 15) over 12 rounds.

Buthelezi to defend IBO belt

It has been reported that Gideon Buthelezi (22-5; 5) will defend his IBO junior bantamweight belt against Manyo Plange (21-0-1; 17) of Ghana at the International Convention Centre in East London on Sunday 28 November.

On the same card, Siphamandla Baleni defends his IBO minimumweight belt against Ayanda Ndulani.
