United States Embassy breaks silence on Ghana’s judicial system

The Embassy of the United States of America in Ghana, has also shared their views on the Judicial system in Ghana.

According to the US Embassy in Accra, the transparency in Ghana’s judicial system is very critical for the country’s economic growth and long term stability.

In the Embassy’s official Twitter page, it stated that, “Transparency in #Ghana’s judicial system is critical for the country’s long-term stability, and economic growth”.

The Embassy in the tweet again stated that, “The U.S. (United States Of America) government; through @USAID supports public agencies, and civil society to roll out initiatives which strengthen #accountability in the judiciary in Ghana”.

These comments by the US Embassy in Ghana has attracted many reposes from some Ghanaians on Twitter. Below are some of the replies.

Isaac Nana Asare said, “Great initiative! I am happy to have contributed on the public sensitization particularly on the use of Victim Offender Mediation for minor offences to restore the victims. This is because criminal trials disassociate the victims from the process”.

Oheneba Boakye Yiadom said, “This is a correct call from the US. Our judicial system under the current dispensation lacks credibility and people are gradually losing confidence in the court system in Ghana”.

Kamal @Kamal47154306 said “Transparency in Ghana’s judicial system is a big problem. It is not about people but about their selfish interest”.
