Black Stars to establish three-week pre-AFCON training camp in Qatar

The Black Stars of Ghana will spend three weeks in Qatar as part of preparations for 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

The team will leave Ghana for Doha on December 22, 2021, where they will be engage in rigorous training before they emplane to Cameroon on January 7, 2022.

The Ghana Football Association have lined up three international friendlies as well as a pre-tournament game with an unnamed club side for the Black Stars.

Coach Milovan Rajevac is expected to name his provisional squad on Tuesday before he names the 28-man team for AFCON 2021 on December 30.

The Black Stars have been drawn in Group C of the Africa Cup of Nations next year, and will begin their quest for a fifth title with an opening game against Morocco.

The team will later play Gabon and Comoros Island.

Ghana has not won the Africa Cup of Nations since 1982 and have been close on three occasions, with the last being in 2015 when they lost to Ivory Coast on penalties.
