Ahmed Abdelmaksoud resigns few days after helping ZAMALEK lift Egyptian Premier League

After having helped Zamalek clinch the 2020/2021 League title, Patrice Carteron’s assistant coach Ahmed Abdelmaksoud has announced his resignation.

Zamalek lifted their 13th league title last week in Abdelmaksoud’s second season with the club’ coaching staff.

Abdelmaksoud had previously hinted that he might move to Saudi Arabia, where he previously coached third division side Al-Suqoor. While he didn’t clarify his next move, he announced his departure in a Facebook post.

“A salute the great Zamalek fans, members of the esteemed committee, the technical staff and the players,” he wrote.

“I thank them very much for the past period and for achieving the most valuable goal by deservedly winning the league.

“I wish with all my heart more championships for the fans of this great club and I thank you very much,” he concluded.
