Caf releases Champions League Match-Day 6 ToTW as Al Ahly duo and Zamalek goalkeeper included
Al Ahly duo Ahmed Abdelkader and Yasser Ibrahim alongside Zamalek’s Mohamed Awad made it to the Champions League group stage round six Team of the Week.
The Reds have recently beaten Sudanese giants Al-Hilal 1-0, qualifying for the Champions League knockout stages.
The game saw convincing performances from a number of Al Ahly players, especially defender Yasser Ibrahim and winger Ahmed Abdelkader.
In the 90 minutes played, Yasser made five clearances, three interceptions, won all his ground duels, and recovered the ball seven times.
Abdelkader had a great game as well, having dribbled past Al Hilal defenders on six occasions and assisting the game’s winning goal.
Zamalek on the other hand were held to a goalless draw with Angolan outfit Sagrada Esperança at home.
Despite the Whites playing at home, Man of the Match was none other than goalkeeper Mohamed Awad who made four saves to keep his clean sheet.
As a result of their impressive performances, Yasser, Abdelkader, and Awad have all made it to the group stage round six Team of the Week.
