The Red Devils had a dream start after they were awarded a penalty in the third minute for a foul by Mahmoud Hamdy on Kahraba, which allowed Ali Maaloul to open the scoring from 12 yards out.

After a slow start, Marwan Hamdy eventually got the equaliser for the visitors four minutes before the break with a header inside the box from a corner, 1-1 going to the break.

Sherif thought he had restored the lead for Al Ahly four minutes from the break after rounding goalkeeper Mahmoud Hamdi to score into an empty net but the goal was disallowed for offside.

The Egyptian attacker  restored the lead for Mosimane’s troops two minutes later with a strike past Hamdi after he was teed up by Afsha inside the box, with the decision needing a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) confirmation.

Amr Al Sulaya secured the three points for Al Ahly in the last three minutes after making it 3-1 with a half-volley from Maaloul’s cross and the Red Devils climbed up into the top of the log.
