Goal.com reveals five players who could make impact for Tusker FC against Zamalek in African Champions League first leg

The Kenyan champions will be hosting the Egyptian heavyweights on Saturday aiming to get a positive result at home.

Goal takes a look at players who might make a difference for the Ruaraka-based charges.

Brian Bwire

The new Brewer has been impressive for the FKF Premier League Champions and is expected to continue in goal ahead of Patrick Matasi. He has to command his department and be ready to be involved in build-ups. Bwire is agile and vital for the hosts who are aiming at getting a positive outcome.

Eugene Asike

The centre-back has been on arguably his best form for club and national team, having featured in World Cup qualifiers against Uganda and Rwanda. The captain has to lead his team effectively and ensure they give their best against the experienced Zamalek side.

Jackson Macharia

Macharia will be one of the main guys for the Robert Matano-led charges. The attacking midfielder can create and score as well. The most important thing is to ensure he keeps the ball and creates scoring opportunities for the strikers. He has to be vocal as well to ensure no one is caught off position.

Boniface Muchiri

The winger is talented and is one of the sure starters in the Tusker team. He is good defensively and his pace is electrifying, making him a threat to the visitors. Muchiri will, however, be needed to take chances instead of trying to pass the ball while in prime positions.

Ibrahim Joshua

The Tanzanian has scored three goals in as many competitive matches for his new team. He has to maintain his form in front of the goal and try to score to give his team a chance of winning. His runs and positioning will be vital for the midfielders.
