Orlando Pirates and Raja Casablanca enter into battle for Young Africans midfielder Feisal Salum

Two African powerhouses Orlando Pirates and Raja Casablanca have entered into a race to sign Feisal Salum from Young Africans ahead of next season.

The Tanzanian International has risen to prominence in the ended season helping Young Africans to lift the Tanzanian Premier League title, FA Cup and Community Shield.

The Tanzania ace is one of the top attacking midfielders based in East Africa having played a vital role in helping Young Africans clinch a domestic treble this past season.

With that achievements, it’s undoubted that clubs across Africa will fight for his signature where Sudanese side Al Merrikh have already made enquiry about Feisal Salum availability but no official bid has been submitted as disclosed by Young Africans.

Al Merrikh have seen Orlando Pirates and Raja Casablanca joined the race for Salum’s signature this summer. GOAL has revealed that Pirates and Raja’s interest are heating up with the two clubs ready to make official contacts with YANGA.

Pirates missed out on the Caf Confederation Cup trophy last term after losing on penalties to Moroccan side RB Berkane in the final. The South African side were placed 6th on the Dstv Premiership table that rules them out of African football next season.

But they hope of making statement when the new season begins having embarked on key signings with Salum among those the PSL side are willing to capture. Unlike Pirates, Raja Casablanca walk into the Caf Champions League seemingly entering into battle with Orlando Pirates in a bid to sign Salum amid their strengthening journey.

In both clubs the attacking midfield area has a major concern in the reinforcement exercise, and Salum is understood to be unmentioned hero in the Africa media but he has been a discovery through scouting reports.

He is described to be a master of the final third, causing Pirates and Raja sleepless nights.

Salum’s International experience has become key in Raja Casablanca’s interest, reaching a milestone in career after been added to Tanzania squad which participated in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Egypt.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Pirates and Raja had made official bids to the camp of YANGA for Salum but the Tanzanian Premier League champions have make latest development on reports.

Young Africans have revealed that none of the clubs have submitted Salum offer making the race more open for other interested clubs. GOAL has spoken exclusively to the Yanga official with the ‘African giants said to be keen to sign the former Zanzibar player’.

“For now, I don’t have any formal request for the player in question except that there was a communication from Al Merrikh club regarding the player,” Mazingiza told GOAL.

Despite the race wide, Pirates look favourites to land the Tanzanian International as the PSL side could send an offer next week. Pirates have already been linked with a move for Salum two months ago.

The Zanzibar-born player is contracted to Yanga until 2024 having joined the Tanzanian giants in 2018 from Jeshi la Kujenga Uchumi, otherwise known as JKU.

With two more years on his contract at Young Africans, the league champions are reportedly ready to cash in on Salum if the right money comes in. This eases Pirates chances of signing Salum than if YANGA were to hold onto their prize asset for next season’s Caf Champions League.
