The 2022 CAF Super Cup is set to take place between Champions League winners Al Ahly and Confederation Cup title-holders Raja Casablanca on the 22nd of December.

Ahead of the game, Al Ahly director of football Sayed Abdelhafiz announced that the club registered six new players as CAF made an exception for the two teams to make changes to their last season’s squads.

“The game will be difficult, we are facing a strong team that could claim the CAF Confederation Cup title, that’s why the coaching staff is fully focused on preparing the players.

“Al Ahly new signing (Percy Tau, Luis Miquissone, Hossam Hassan, and Karim Fouad) alongside the players who were previously loaned (Ahmed Abdelkader and Ammar Hamdi) were all added to the competing squad.

“Club president Mahmoud El-Khatib gave a motivational speech to the players, explaining the importance of staying fully focused and committed.

“I trust the team, I know the players will rise up to the occasion. We are always aiming to win titles and break records.”
