Chiefs and Pirates to lose out on midfielder Ayanda Patosi

Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates could lose out in the race for top midfielder Ayanda Patosi’s signature.

The experienced Khayelitsha-born player, who has spent the past two-and-a-half years playing in Iran for Foolad FC, is set to see his contract with the club come to an end.

Since January, Chiefs and Pirates have been linked with the Bafana Bafana international, and while the Soweto giants are believed to have not yet completed reinforcing their respective squads with the new signings for next season, the two clubs could miss out on Patosi as the player is assessing his options.

Foolad is keen to offer the 29-year-old a new deal while he has also attracted interest from a few other clubs abroad, as previously reported by the Siya crew.

Meanwhile, Patosi has been spotted at his former club Cape Town City who are also keen to reunite with him as part of their planning the CAF Champions League.
