Ahly sign Luís Miquissone from Simba SC as Cairo giants imminently begin reinforcement

Al Ahly have secured the signing of Mozambique international and former Mamelodi Sundowns winger Luís Miquissone from Simba SC.

After losing the Egyptian Premier League title to Zamalek, Ahly have wasted no time to strengthen their team ahead of next season with a huge aim of claiming back the ultimate.

They have already announced deals for Karim Fouad, Percy Tau and added Simba star Miquissone to their ranks.

Miquissone has developed considerably since his ill-fated spell in the Premier Soccer League between 2018 and 2020 after Masandawana lured him from UD Songo.

He left without making his debut after failing to make an impact on loan stints with Chippa United and Royal Eagles respectively but his move to Tanzania on a free transfer sparked a career revival.

At Simba, the 26-year-old emerged as one of the most sought-after talents on the continent as they dominated their domestic league over the past two seasons.

The diminutive winger also scored the goal that inflicted Mosimane’s first defeat with Ahly in the Champions League last season.

As reported by this website earlier this month, the Red Devils forked out R13-million for his services from the Tanzanian giants.
