Simba Sporting Club are believed to be interested in right-back Fatawu Mohammed and central midfielder Suraj Seidu.

Simba have learnt their fate in the domestic campaign seeing their Tanzania Premier League dominance shut down by Yanga this season.

With only 5 games to the end of the season, they trail league leaders Young Africans 13 points heading into matchday 27 over the weekend.

Don’t miss out on

Aside their poor domestic campaign, Simba failed with their African Champions League ambition after being eliminated in the second round by Jwaneng Galaxy. Their drop to the Caf Confederation Cup ended their journey in quarter-finals following 3-4 loss on penalties.

Simba is expected to bounce back stronger next season and thought a move for Fatawu Mohammed and Suraj Seidu will be crucial in that pursuit. Fatawu has captained and been untouchable at Hearts for seasons now.

But the signing of former Black Stars wing-back Samuel Inkoom at the second round of the Ghana Premier League has limited Fatawu’s playing time.

His current situation at the Ghana Premier League defending champions may have caught the attention of Simba SC.

The Tanzanian side have shown interest in signing the Hearts of Oak defender as the season gears towards end.

Fatawu started all Hearts games in Africa- beating CI Kamsar in the Champions League first round and domestic competitions before Inkoom’s arrival in April finally pushed him to the bench.

Simba have also shown interest in Suraj Seidu whom the midfielder has risen to prominence in recent times. Suraj joined Hearts of Oak in August 2021 but his playing time was limited due to Frederick Ansah Botchway, Sulley Muntari, Salim Adams and Abdul Nurideen Aziz.

Suraj was only given minutes in Ghana’s FA Cup and the 21-year old has utilized the opportunity offered gradually warming himself into the  Ghana Premier League setup. He has played some remarkable GPL games in recent times.

Simba are understood that the Ghanaian International may be essential in the next season’s campaign. Simba have not make official enquiry about the midfielder.

A sports consortium has revealed Simba’s interest in the two Hearts stars to Futball Surgery. For Fatawu he may welcome a move away from Hearts of Oak at the end of the season due to his limited playing minutes.

For Suraj it may require more effort for Simba to complete the signing of the midfielder due to his age, 21, and only a year into his proposed years of contract.
