Future FC captain Saad Samir delight after forcing Al Ahly to a draw in Egyptian Premier League clash

Future FC skipper and Al Ahly former defender Saad Samir stated that he’s content after the draw with his former club in the Egyptian Premier League.

Al Ahly failed to emerge victorious as they stumbled in Future FC hurdle, falling to their first draw in the Egyptian Premier League this season.

Samir who wore Al Ahly armband on multiple occasions and won many titles with the Reds spoke about playing against his former team and what it meant to him.

“Playing against Al Ahly gives a different feeling, it was not easy, especially since I am here at Future FC on loan,” Samir Said.

“However, it felt good to play against the CAF Champions League winners, I was happy we could hold the biggest club in Africa to a draw.

“We’ve been preparing for Al Ahly game for long since the league was on pause, especially that we lost the previous two games and we felt like we could have avoided these defeats. We created chances but we just couldn’t score.

“Tonight, we came face to face with a great team no one has been able to stop, and after their opening goal, I knew we could make a comeback because they didn’t create many chances.

“Experienced players know that you have to stay calm and wait for your chance to score.

“We knew that Al Ahly players were exhausted so we knew our fitness level will be an advantage, our coach Ali Maher told us that. he read the game well and he’s one of the reasons I chose to come here.”

On Nedved scoring the equalizer against his former team, Saad said: “In Al Ahly, we learn to do our best no matter where we are, you will see us giving 100% of our effort even when we face Al Ahly.”
