Cristiano Ronaldo send Manchester United transfer request amid Chelsea interest

The Portuguese has requested a transfer from Manchester United and Chelsea are interested.

The latest odds are in on where Manchester United icon Cristiano Ronaldo will be playing his football next season, with Chelsea one of the clubs linked with the forward.

Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly held talks with super-agent Jorge Mendes earlier this summer as he looks to strengthen Thomas Tuchel’s side for next term. While it was a wide-ranging discussion, the idea of potentially bringing Ronaldo to Chelsea was also raised.

Another twist has now emerged in the saga. Ronaldo only returned to Old Trafford last summer but, according to The Times, is eager to jump ship in order to continue playing in the Champions League next season, handing Erik Ten Hag more work to do in his first summer as manager.

With Romelu Lukaku returning to Inter Milan on loan this week, Tuchel has been left in need of a new leading man, and Ronaldo appears to be under consideration for that role. But they are, unsurprisingly, not alone in their interest, with Roma and Bayern Munich also linked.
