Fernandes sparked United into Champions League football last season in time of his 5 months stay at Old Trafford having been signed from sporting Lisbon in the 2020 January transfer window.

The 26-year old grabbed 8 goals before end of last term and has continued to deliver this season, finding back of the net 7 times in 10 Premier League games.

According to reports in Spain, both Barcelona and Real Madrid are planning to bring Fernandes to the Laliga but that won’t come easy, with the midfielder spending only 11 months into his four year contract at Manchester United.

The Premier League outfit are now even planning to offer Fernandes a new contract that will see him take home improved salary purposely to block Barcelona and Madrid’s interest.

That’s claimed by the Express, and also reports Manchester United will offer Fernandes double of his £100,000-a-week salary that will see the Portuguese earn close to what Paul Pogba takes home every week £250,000-a-week.

Spanish International David De Gea leads United’s wage scale with £350,000-a-week followed by Pogba, Anthony Martial and Edinson Cavani.

Should Fernandes offered a new contract, he would then join among those players who earn higher in Manchester United.
