Liverpool looking forward to explore opportunities to sign AS Roma star Lorenzo Pellegrini as replacement for want-away Wijnaldum

Liverpool have been searching for a potential replacement for midfielder Gini Wijnaldum who wants a move away from Anfield this summer.

The Netherlands International joined Liverpool in July 2016 and has been with the Merseyside giants both in difficult and happy moments but he is looking for a new challenge elsewhere according to reports.

That’s due to the 30-year old’s contract coming to an end at the end of this season with no sign of potentially reaching agreement with Liverpool as clubs have expressed interest in Wijnaldum.

Barcelona have already burst into the scene to compete with the likes of Juve, Chelsea and Inter Milan for the midfielder’s signature but Ronald Koeman’s side look favorites according a report in football Espana from Spain.

Though the Catalona club have not yet made any official approach, it is understood that Koeman and Wijnaldum have both wants to unit at Camp Nou leaving Liverpool vulnerable to keep their own player.

The Spanish outlet takes it further up by completing conclusions last month that agreement between Wijnaldum and Barcelona has been struck “when the 30-year old has finally decided to join the Laliga side when his contract at Anfield expires this summer according to The Times and carried by Mundo Deportivo

“The Dutchman is said to have agreed a pre-contract with Barcelona to become the first signing of Joan Laporta’s presidency.”

Liverpool may have learnt from the consequences of losing one of exciting talents in middle of the pitch and the need to find his replacement. According to various sources in England in recent weeks, the Premier League champions have already entered into plans to find a replacement where Ajax youngster Ryan Gravenberch last week claimed by The Sun and Roma’s Pellegrini just two days ago claimed by Mirror have been table-topped at Anfield.

But with Gravenberch’s father ever ready to block his son’s move to Liverpool, reported by Ajax Showtime, Pellegrini spearheads potentials to replace Wijnaldum with the Reds even reportedly decided to explore opportunities at AS Roma to lure the Italian midfielder.

That’s according a report in Liverpool Echo by Team Talk who claims, FIRST, Pellegrini’s current contract situation could be one of the gateways for Liverpool breaking through in a deal for Roma’s acting skipper.

The Italian International has just a year on his contract at Roma and there is no agreement in place between the two parties which puts Liverpool in an advantageous position over Pellegrini’s transfer.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have had a dig on Roma in recent times after the Premier League giants completing £34million signing of Mohamed Salah in June 2017 and a then world record fee of £67m for Alisson Becker in July 2018.

“I’m really happy, it’s a dream come true to wear such a prestigious shirt for a club of this size that is used to always winning,” Alisson told Liverpool’s club website via Sky Sport after completing the deal.

“In terms of my life and my career, it’s a huge step for me being part of this club and this family.

“You can be certain that I’ll give my all.”

Juregn Klopp’s side are believed ready to, SECOND, capitalized on already established links with the Serie A side to finalize a move for Lorenzo Pellegrini.

Beside, Jose Mourinho will become manager of AS Roma this summer after countryman Paulo Fonseca set to depart Stadio Olimpico due to failure to achieve most of club’s targets. THIRD, Mourinho’s appointment could be another point for Liverpool to recruit Pellegrini as revealed by The Express.

While taking over at Roma, the former Manchester United and Chelsea manager has been linked heavily with a lot of midfielders including United flop Donny van de Beek, Eric Dier and Nemanja Matic amid forming a solid midfield to compete for the Serie A title next season.

And that means the Portuguese International may already have plans to let Pellegrini leave the Olimpico Stadium at the end of this season and that would be a big opportunity for Liverpool to take him to Anfield.
