Chelsea sack manager Thomas Tuchel after disappointing start to the season

Chelsea have sacked manager Thomas Tuchel a day after a 1-0 loss in the UEFA Champions League at Dinamo Zagreb.

The German International has suffered a disappointing start to the season winning three of the club’s 6 league games so far as Chelsea sit 6th place on the Premier League table with 10 points.

At the beginning of the 2022-2023 European football, Chelsea were beaten 1-0 in Croatia with a sloppy display from the London side. Chelsea newly formed hierarchy led by interim Sporting Director Todd Boehly appear not happy with the results of Tuchel’s side leading to taking that crucial decision.

“On behalf of everyone at Chelsea FC, the Club would like to place on record its gratitude to Thomas and his staff for all their efforts during their time with the Club. Thomas will rightly have a place in Chelsea’s history after winning the Champions League, the Super Cup and Club World Cup in his time here.

“As the new ownership group reaches 100 days since taking over the Club, and as it continues its hard work to take the club forward, the new owners believe it is the right time to make this transition.

“Chelsea’s coaching staff will take charge of the team for training and the preparation of our upcoming matches as the Club moves swiftly to appoint a new head coach.

:There will be no further comment until a new head coach appointment is made.

Tuchel helped Chelsea to win the Champions League in 2021 after beating Manchester City in the finals.
