Manchester United football director John Murtough is travelling to meet Rabiot’s mother and agent Veronique in attempt to get club’s fourth summer signing done and dusted.
Manchester United are eager to sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot following their Premier League opener defeat to Brighton.
After three new signings in Tyrell Malaca, Lisandro Martinez and Christian Eriksen United, hopes for the new season was high and Erik ten Hag’s escalating displays in pre-season raised attention of getting things that seem to be twisted since retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson on the right track.
But United’s defeat in opening day of the EPL to Brighton has forced ten Hag to further rethink and look at his current squad and fill the right hole. It’s understood that United need a typical play-maker and a ball carrier with Juventus ace Adrien Rabiot becoming the boss’ preferred candidate in midst of the several in mind.
“We need more players. We have multiple targets,” he said. “We are working on it. But we should have done better today with this team, Erik ten Hag said in post match interview after Brighton defeat.
“It’s all about results. We all know that we are in a process. There are still many things that need to be improved. We have to learn from this and then continue.”
And now, the Premier League giants have make a bold step to getting a deal done for the French International after Manchester United football director John Murtough flying to meet Rabiot’s mother and agent Veronique in a bid to get the club’s fourth summer signing over the line.
A report in Express suggests United have already reached a 15million pounds agreement with Serie A giants Juve and are working around the clock to agree personal terms with Adrien Rabiot himself- which his situation involves dealing with his mother and agent Veronique Rabiot .
United understand that an obstacle to completion of the deal will be mother Veronique, who is a notoriously tricky negotiator. Veronique has been at the centre of several public fall-outs – not least with Paris Saint-Germain, who sold the midfielder to Juventus in 2019.
John Murtough is travelling to meet the mother personally to have easiness in the deal amid securing United’s fourth summer deal after Tyrell Malaca, Lisandro Martinez and Christian Eriksen, claimed by The Telegraph.
Ten Hag is a huge admirer of the former PSG midfielder and has given his personal backing to the United’s transfer move.
Adrien Rabiot is said to set his heart on a move to Old Trafford to test his abilities in the English Premier League.
