EXCLUSIVE: Ajax boss Erik Ten Hag confirms Hakim Ziyech transfer to Chelsea

Frank Lampard is now hopeful of completing his first signing as a Chelsea manager after growing huge frustrations when he failed to make his desire to sign attacking reinforcement in the January transfer window count.

Earlier today Wednesday, Dutch Publication De Telegraaf claimed Chelsea have finally reached agreement in principle with Ajax to bring Hakim Ziyech to Stamford Bridge when the season ends.

And this report has been confirmed by Ajax boss Erik Ten Hag who currently manages the Moroccan International in the Eredivisie.

“Ziyech to Chelsea? A transfer was coming, we expected it to happen,” the manager told Fox Sports.

“And I actually already expected this one or two years earlier. And each time it was: ‘Wow, he stayed again’. We are just happy that we will still have him until the end of the season.”

Frank Lampard could get his desire to sign Ziyech that was completely overlooked by Ajax in January when Chelsea failed in a bid to secure the play-maker’s signature now addressed.

Ziyech has be a stunner in Ajax jersey since completing a move from FC Twente to Amsterdam in 2016. He has found back of the net 48 times and registered 82 assists to his name in 159 matches.

Arsenal and Manchester United were also interest in the 26-year-old, but according to reports, the Eredivisie table leaders preferred to sell Ziyech to Chelsea instead, and that gives the Blues  upper hand to complete a €47 million transfer for Moroccan ace.
