Manchester United complete signing of former Inter Milan and Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen

Manchester United have completed the signing of Christian Eriksen on 3-year deal from a free transfer perspective. The Dane International has been linked with a move to Erik ten Hag’s new-building Manchester United all summer.

United were understood to have agreed personal terms with Christian Eriksen over a summer move earlier this week, pending medicals with Brentford not excluded in negotiations despite the 30-year old becoming a free agent at the Premier League club at the end of the season.

The former Inter Milan and Tottenham attacking midfielder was crucial for Brentford last season creating over 30 chances excluding assists and goals.

Manchester United new boss Erik ten Hag appears a huge admirer of the Danish ace and had asked club’s officials to get him the 30 year midfielder, and spoke directly with Eriksen over the move.

With Eriksen, touted a plethora of experience in the game, yet to arrive at Old Trafford, ten Hag has already identified the right direction for Manchester United hitting the ground running after sensational winning start to pre-season following thrashing of Liverpool and Melbourne Victory on Friday morning.

Though there could be a the opposite, Eriksen’s arrival at Manchester is expected buttress against depletion of ten Hag’s United found momentum in pre-season when the season proper starts. Christian Eriksen has signed a three year contract at Manchester United until June 2025.

United announced the deal on the official website; “Manchester United is pleased to confirm that Christian Eriksen has joined the club, signing a contract until June 2025.

The midfielder has been capped 115 times for Denmark, scoring 38 goals for his country. Eriksen has played 237 games in the Premier League, registering 52 goals and 71 assists.”

After signing his contract, Eriksen issued his first words as Manchester United player claiming United is a special club while highlighting the important role ten Hag played in the completed transfer.

“Manchester United is a special club, and I cannot wait to get started. I have had the privilege of playing at Old Trafford many times but to do it in the red shirt of United will be an amazing feeling.

“I have seen Erik’s work at Ajax and know the level of detail and preparation that he and his staff put into every day. It is clear that he is a fantastic coach. Having spoken with him and learned more about his vision and the way he wants the team to play, I am even more excited for the future. I still have major ambitions in the game, there is a huge amount that I know I can achieve, and this is the perfect place to continue my journey.”
