Manchester United weighing up a January bid for PSV forward Cody Gakpo

Manchester United are reportedly considering bringing in PSV forward Cody Gakpo in January.

The Premier League outfit are said looking forward to bring in attacking players and a right-back reveal by Sky Sports.

Despite this ambition, boss Erik ten Hag and his technical team will do that only for the right players and Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure has already created the perfect condition to sign attackers next month.

And while it’s understood that United have a number of forwards in sight, PSV and Netherlands World Cup star Cody Gakpo has emerged a huge favourites within the books of Old Trafford officials.

Gakpo shined for his country at Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup netting three times but was unlucky to be crushed out of the competition by Lionel Messi’s Argentina at the quarter-finals.

Sky Sport has claimed that Gakpo is the man Manchester United are considering bringing to Old Trafford following the gap by Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure.

But they need to fight beyond the average to get a deal done and dusted after PSV appearing to demand a club record transfer, says Sky Sports.

PSV director of football Marcel Brands says any deal for the 23-year-old “must be a record transfer” for the Eredivisie club.

PSV asking price may not be a problem for Erik ten Hag’s side and Gakpo is believed ready for a move to Manchester United putting the club at a better position to land the Netherlands International in January.
