N’Golo Kante ‘will leave Chelsea for nothing’ as Inter Milan and Juventus target star

N’Golo Kante could move from Stamford Bridge to Serie A, with ‘Inter Milan and Juventus among the teams seeking to exploit his expiring contract at Chelsea’.

The Frenchman’s contract expires at the end of June, freeing the defensive midfielder to enter talks with clubs from January.

Inter Milan and Juventus are ‘very attentive’ to the Kante’s situation, according to Repubblica.

Both clubs could a consider moving for the star in January for a reported £18 million, it is claimed.

Kante has ‘been identified by Inter coach Simone Inzaghi as a contender to strengthen the centre of Inter Milan’s midfield’, an area targeted for upgrades.

Inter, who lie fifth in Serie A, could face a challenge in matching the 31-year-old’s demands, with the Frenchman having signed a contract worth £290,000-a-week back in 2018.

Juventus also believe Kante could provide balance to their side.

The defensive midfielder could replace fellow French midfielder Adrien Rabiot, whose contract in Turin also expires at the end of the season.

Kante is currently recuperating from an operation on his hamstring last month, which ruled him out of the World Cup in Qatar.

He initially sustained the injury back in August, before aggravating the problem in training last month.

The injury has restricted Kante to just two Premier League appearances this season, adding to long-term concerns over his fitness.

Kante has been central figure for both club and country in recent years, starring for Chelsea in their Champions League triumph in 2021.

Since joining Chelsea from Leicester in 2016, Kante has made 262 appearances for the club.

The diminutive midfielder has 53 caps for France and was a member of their World Cup winning squad in 2018.
