Manchester United are reportedly decided on Napoli and Valladoid stars as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made bringing in a center-back

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has decided signing one of Kalidou Koulibaly or Salisu Mohammed before the summer transfer window ends.

The introduction of Harry Maguire at United back has saved the club a number of highly preventable goals this season.

The United manager is reportedly unconvinced about most of his current center-backs where less is being made of them whenever Maguire is unavailable for games.

The Norwegian has since January transfer window planned to sign another center-back to pair the former Leicester City defender, and to solve the vacuum from Maguire’s absence.

Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly and Valladolid man Salisu Mohammed have been shortlisted by Ole as best pairs for Maguire ahead of the summer window.

For Koulibaly, United have opened a battle to snatch the Senegalese from Napoli in the last two transfer windows, having seen their big-money bid rejected by Napoli last summer before signing Maguire later, and were also beaten in a new offer in January by the Seria A outfits’ unwillingness to let the player leave.

Valued around £90-100million, United are said, according to the Sun, to planned signing the Senegalese International in a fresh deal for a reduced price of £70million- with price reduction due to coronavirus crisis.

According to reports, Manchester United are aware that Napoli now understand they would not get offers for Koulibaly around their £90-100million asking price due to the financial difficulty from the virus, and are willing to accept a reduced fee around £70million.

United are able to meet the latest price, and may open negotiations with Napoli for a summer transfer for Koulibaly.

If there appears a setback in Koulibaly’s transfer, Salisu is United’s next alternative as the Red Devils boss is made bringing a centre-half to Old his no 1. Priority, claimed by the Daily Express.

The Ghanaian International has become a price asset for Valladolid after his impressive displays at Estadio Jose Zorrilla this season. Ole’s side are understood to contacted player’s agent Mata Srn.- who is current team member Juan Mata’s father.

They have also made Valladolid aware of their interest in Salisu as revealed by club president mid-month. United could be faced with competition from Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid and Valencia.

The Ghanaian center-back has two more years on his running contract at Valladolid but the Premier League outfits have plans to shorten his stay in the Spanish Laliga if their first choice move for Kalidou Koulibaly fails.

Salisu have €12milion release clause and his club are willing to let him leave for Old Trafford after United believed to have convinced the Laliga outfits.
