Neymar makes bold PSG transfer decision as Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel learn Manchester City fate

The Brazil international had been viewed as surplus to requirements in France but a certain agent has clarified the situation around the winger.

Paris Saint-Germain and Brazilian star Neymar has reportedly decided to stay put at the Parc de Princes in a bid to try and win the Champions League next season under soon-to-be new manager Christopher Galtier.

It has been a summer of change so far in the French capital. Despite winning the Ligue 1 title in 2021/22, the head of the Qatar Sports Investments group Nasser Al-Khelafi had ordered a review into the structure of the club after another failure in Europe. Real Madrid knocked PSG out in their road to winning the 2021/22 competition and this was seen as a reason for change in the eyes of the owner.

Consequently, Lille manager Christopher Galtier is close to being appointed as Pochettino’s successor, whilst Luis Campos has already been put in place at the expense of Leonardo. Kylian Mbappe has signed his new bumper deal which has seen him snub Real Madrid and remain in France. Whilst all this change was going on, the future of 30-year-old Neymar was unknown heading into the busy summer transfer window.

Campos had decided that it would be time to move on the former Barcelona star but Spanish outlet Marca said this would be a no-go due to the finances attached to a potential deal for any club interested in the services of Neymar.

Therefore, Thomas Tuchel can now rest easy that neither Man City nor any other Premier League rival will be landing the talismanic figure that the Blues were once linked to, as per the Daily Mirror, before Raheem Sterling and Ousmane Dembele were selected by the German as his main two Chelsea priorities.

This is the view of Brazilian agent Wagner Ribeiro who has played down all the Juventus, Man City and Barcelona speculation linking his fellow countrymen to a big money move to each of those clubs.

“Neymar has a dream: to be champion of the Champions League with PSG. Despite all the rumours about a possible exit, he is very motivated and will not stop until he gets it,” Ribeiro told Goal Brazil in an exclusive interview.
