Thomas Partey move to Arsenal could be completed next week after Ghanaian’s agent travelling to London to finalize the transfer.

Despite many top elite clubs interested in landing the hard working midfielder, Arsenal appears to be leading the race to sign Thomas Partey this summer.

It’s rare in recent times to see the North London side emanating as superior in race for a hot prospect in the transfer market when especially the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Juventus have shown interest in a player and compete Arsenal for that player’s signature.

But in the case of Ghanaian International Partey, is quite different as Arsenal are edging closer to beating Madrid, Juve, London rivals Chelsea and new Premier League champions Liverpool to the signing of the Atletico Madrid ace.

Arsenal have agreed to pay Partey’s €50million release clause while the Wanda Metropolitano club have also accepted to let their midfielder leave this summer after Partey reportedly told his club he wants a new challenge in the Premier League.

It’s understood that the Laliga outfits were willing to keep the Ghanaian midfielder but his request to move abroad and the financial problems form the coronavirus pandemic have tempted Diego Simeone’s side to sell him to Arsenal- who have shown commitment to Partey’s deal since January this year.

Now, the player’s agent is expected to fly to London over the weekend to finalize his client’s transfer to Arsenal, and that could see the deal to be completed next week.

The Ghanaian International has been exceptional in the Laliga and Champions League this season especially in Atletico Madrid’s round of 16 triumph over Liverpool. After the second leg game at Anfield, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was forced to inquire about Partey’s availability before he was finally aware that Arsenal have head far in the player’s pursuit.
