Everton are targeting a January move for Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga

Everton are among a number of Premier League clubs showing interest in Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga.

The 20-year old is understood to be growing frustrated at his peripheral role under Erik Ten Hag.

Despite the fact Jadon Sancho has been out of contention, teenager Alejandro Garnacho has been preferred in the first team and United are looking to add more forwards with PSV Eindhoven’s Cody Gakpo their prime target while Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix has also been offered. That has left Elanga evaluating his future.

Everton manager Frank Lampard wants a winger and striker but will have to work within the loan market.

He was keen to sign Sweden international Elanga last summer and is open to a deal in January.

They won’t be alone with a number of Premier League sides asking about 20-year old Elanga’s situation.

United, however, have yet to make any decision as Ten Hag wants to ensure he has players in first, particularly after losing Cristiano Ronaldo.

United have grand plans to keep recruiting big name players but their big summer outlay plus the pending sale of the club may still impact the timing and scale of their bids.

They have instigated talks for Gakpo as expected and want to add a right-back on loan.

United anticipate offers for Brandon Williams, while Aaron Wan Bissaka is wanted by West Ham, Crystal Palace and Wolves.
